This course addresses local public health and medical preparedness with other community partners in preparation for the coordination of plans to provide mass distribution of medical countermeasures for the jurisdiction as it relates to the Division of Strategic National Stockpile (DSNS) Program. This course addresses Emergency Support Function #8 issues.

Workshop Topics:
The first day of training focuses on planning
considerations and recommendations to achieve CDC’s 48 hours or less (standalone capability) for Mass Prophylaxis. The second day of training focuses on the local community’s Mass Prophylaxis plan and POD site preparedness. The course material is applicable to pandemic influenza, bio-terrorism, and other public
health emergencies using at least one local POD site plan as the foundation for an exercise. Because we are focusing onBayCare Hospitals, our goal is for each hospital to focus on their site.
