Come fly with the NOAA Hurricane Hunters, learn more about their program and the impacts of weather on hurricane preparedness & response!
Our speaker will be Jack Parrish, who currently serves as a NOAA AOC Flight Meteorologist and a Gulfstream G-IVSP High-Altitude Jet Project Manager. Mr. Parrish has continuously served as one of the AOC Flight Directors (Meteorologists) aboard the NOAA WP-3D Orion aircraft since 1983, and in 2021 flies his 42nd hurricane season for NOAA. During that period, he has entered the hurricane’s eye 650 times in approximately 80 hurricanes.

HIs presentation will discuss:

  • The work of NOAA “hurricane hunters” and what the job entails
  • Information about how the job has evolved
  • How changes in weather and climate patterns may affect hurricane preparedness and response

The presentation will be followed by time for Q & A.
