First Responder Resiliency Virtual Workshop

October 6, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Register

The Tampa Bay Health & Medical Preparedness Coalition is partnering with the Emerald Coast Healthcare Coalition to bring you a very timely virtual workshop on First Responder Resilience. The COVID-19 Pandemic has impacted all aspects of the health and medical community, and one of our clearest lessons is that healthcare workers are certainly First Responders. This workshop will provide First Responders, whether full time or volunteer, an understanding of the balance between rewards, stressors, and frustrations of their job. It will provide interventions to job stressors that can be called psychological first aid, including the value of emotional support. This workshop will include how to have success in ever-changing environments.

At the end of the workshop, participants will:

  • Know the effects of resilience on the psychosocial well-being of themselves and others.
  • Have beginning knowledge on how to use a resilience program.
  • Know how and when resilience isn’t working and follow-on steps.
  • Know how to monitor and maintain resilience protocols for wellness and self-care.

This workshop will be presented by Frank L. Goldstein, Ph.D., DAPA, FACFE, LCSW, Col USAF (Ret). Dr. Goldstein has traveled, taught, lectured extensively around the world. He is currently the Director of the Behavioral Health and Resilience for Okaloosa County EMS, Director of the Emerald Coast Crisis Stress Team, Senior Clinical Mental Health Specialist for the Florida Disaster Medical Response Federal Team, (FL-1) and the Northwest Florida Regional Medical Response Team and the Okaloosa-Walton Medical Reserve Corps. He is on the Faculty of Northwest Florida State College Leadership Institute in Niceville, FL, and the Graduate Faculty, Forensic Psychologya at Marymount University, Arlington, VA. He has over forty years’ experience as a First Responder, Commander (USAF Colonel, Ret.), director, educator, behavioral scientist, clinician, business leader, author and motivational speaker. He is skilled in disaster support, crisis and stress management, post-traumatic stress disorders, human sexuality, psychological operations, information operations, human factors profiling (domestic and international), and psychological and analytical research. He is the author of five books and many monographs and articles. His latest book, Psychological First Aid: A First Responder Handbook has been well received by the First Responder community.

We hope you will join us for this workshop and help build resilience in our first responder community!
