Health Sector Emergency Preparedness: Planning, Response, and Recovery (HSEP-V)

The purpose of the course is to prepare designated staff members from the seventeen healthcare providers and suppliers designated by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services to plan, prepare, respond, and recover from disasters in their communities. The course addresses the intent and requirements of the 2016 Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services Final Rule. Conduct of a hazard vulnerability analysis, determination of detailed requirements for emergency operation plans and the conduct of incident action planning, emergency communication planning and stakeholder communication and messaging, planning and execution of emergency management training and exercises, and responding to and recovering from a disaster or emergency as an integrated member of a community health system. The course concludes with a culminating exercise that walks through the requirements and considerations for responding to and recovering from a disaster or emergency as an integrated member of a community health system.
